- 1 tsp Udad dal
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 2 tsp chilli garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 6-8 boiled and mashed potatoes
- as needed cilantro
- 1 bowl onion rings
- as required Green spicy chutney
- as needed Sweet-sour tamarind chutney
- As needed Dry garlic powder
- 12 loaves bread
Instructions to make to make Grilled Vada Pav
- For vadas
Inna pan add oil
Add
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp Udad dal
5-6 curry leaves
1tsp ginger paste
2 tsp chilli garlic paste
1/4 th tsp Asofoetida
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
6-8 boiled and mashed potatoes
Salt acc to taste
Saute for 5-10 mins
Switch off flame
Add cilantro
Roll into flattened balls
Keep aside - For batter
In a bowl mix 8 tbsp besan(chickpea flour)
Salt
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/4 Tsp asofoetida
Add water and make a medium thick batter
Add 1/8 tsp baking soda
Squeeze lemon over it
Keep aside for 15 mins - Accompaniments
1 bowl onion rings
5-6 fried chillies
Spicy green chutney
Sweet sour tamarind chutney
Dry garlic powder - Method
Place a loaf on a flat surface
Apply tamarind chutney on both sides
Apply another layer of green chutney
Sprinkle dry red garlic powder
Place vada over the base
Place onion rings atop
Place a chilli
Sprinkle dry red garlic masala again
Roast it on a grill tawa on both sides
